Bouznika Plage, con il suo point destro lungo e regolare, è il gioiello del litorale marocchino e ha ospitato la seconda tappa dell’European Longboard Tour.

Siamo tornati sul campo dell’ELT: in acqua si sono sfidati 27 uomini e 10 donne, tra cui una forte rappresentanza europea e un’agguerrita squadra marocchina.

Sempre in prima linea la scuola francese – con Martin Coret, Justine Dupont e Louis Marchiset – e la solida squadra portoghese, rappresentata da Raka Bento, Antonio Dantas e Frederico Carrilho.

Ma a sorprendere sono stati i paesi nordici.
But it was the Nordic countries that delivered the biggest surprise.
La finale ha visto trionfare due giovani promesse: l’olandese Douwe Robroch e la danese Thilde Sophie Rasmussen, due nomi nuovi che hanno incantato il pubblico marocchino con stile e determinazione.
The final crowned two rising stars: Dutchman Douwe Robrouch and Danish surfer Thilde Sophie Rasmussen, who captivated the Moroccan crowd with their style and determination.
Day 1 – Bouznika Magic
Si compete a partire della tarda mattinata, con la marea in salita. La swell non la più grande, pero Le onde di Bouznika Right offrono comunque alcune linee perfette per i longboarder.
Competition starts late morning with rising tide. The swell isn’t the biggest, but Bouznika Right still offers some perfect lines for longboarders. The European athletes show notable patience and technical maturity.
Gli atleti europei mostrano una pazienza e una maturità tecnica notevole. Nella Main round maschile vedremo 9 europei e 6 locali marocchini proccedere . La single wave score più alta della giornata va, ancora una volta, a Martin Coret con 7.75 punti. Il francese Louis Marchiset si aggiudica invece il miglior punteggio totale di heat, con 14.10. Dunque, sempre in prima linea la scuola francese, seguita dai portoghesi Frederico Carrilho e Antonio Dantas.
In the next men’s round, 9 Europeans and 6 local Moroccans compete. The highest single-wave score of the day goes again to Martin Coret with 7.75 points. Frenchman Louis Marchiset claims the highest total heat score with 14.10. So, the French school leads, followed by Portuguese Frederico Carrilho and Antonio Dantas.
Main Round 1 Women
A seguire, si svolgono le heat femminili. Nonostante l’alta marea, Bouznika Right continua a offrire onde lunghe e pulite, anche se le serie si fanno sempre più aspettare. Con pareti d’onda più morbide, si distinguono le surfiste più tecniche.
Next up are the women’s heats. Despite high tide, Bouznika Right continues to offer long, clean waves, though sets are increasingly spaced out. With softer wave faces, the more technical surfers stand out.

Day 2 – Changing Conditions and Goosebumps
Dopo la magia del primo giorno, gli atleti si svegliano sotto un cielo grigio e con una leggera brezza da nord-ovest. Lo swell dei giorni precedenti ha perso forza e qualità: le onde sono leggermente più choppy, e tra una serie e l’altra bisogna aspettare a lungo. È una giornata che richiede ancora una volta pazienza e un’attenta lettura del mare per individuare le onde giuste, quelle che permettono punteggi elevati.
After the magic of day one, the athletes wake under a gray sky with a light northwest breeze. The previous swell has weakened and waves are choppier, with long waits between sets. It’s a day that again demands patience and sharp ocean reading to find the right waves that yield high scores.
Nel Main Round Men si disputano oggi quattro batterie di altissimo livello. La frequenza delle onde cambia da heat a heat. Ancora una volta sono i portoghesi e i francesi a dominare la scena. Antonio Dantas si assicura il punteggio più alto dell’evento finora: un 9.5 su un’onda lunga, surfata alla perfezione e chiusa con uno spettacolare Ten.
The Men’s Main Round features four high-level heats. Wave frequency varies heat by heat. Portuguese and French riders continue to dominate. Antonio Dantas scores the highest so far: a 9.5 on a long, perfectly surfed wave closed with a spectacular Ten.
Tra gli atleti che avanzano ai quarti troviamo anche il giovane Noa, parte della squadra danese, una nazione in continua crescita, come confermato anche tra le donne. Thilde Sophie Rasmusen domina infatti la sua heat con un total heat score di 12 e un punteggio singolo di 8.5, grazie a un’ottima scelta delle onde e una strategia perfetta, che le permette di tenere a bada le sue avversarie: l’inglese Beth Leighfield e l’australiana Lucy Small. Nella heat successiva è Justine Dupont ad avere la meglio, dimostrando ancora una volta la sua grande esperienza e capacità di lettura del mare.

Thilde Sophie Rasmussen dominates her heat with a 12 total heat score and an 8.5 single score, thanks to excellent wave choice and strategy, keeping the English Beth Leighfield and Australian Lucy Small at bay. Justine Dupont wins her heat next, demonstrating great experience and ocean reading skills.

While mint tea is poured onshore to refresh minds, emotions heat up in the water. The quarterfinals, 1-on-1 duels, begin.
Ad aprire le danze sono Louis Marchisette contro Imad Agourram, seguito dal derby portoghese tra Frederico Carillho e Antonio Dantas. Quest’ultimo trova subito un’onda da punteggio, con uno degli hang ten – hang five combo più lunghi della giornata, premiato con uno score intorno all’8, che mette immediatamente sotto pressione il compagno di squadra Frederico.

La marea in salita mette gli atleti delle ultime heat sempre più in difficoltà – pazienza, ragazzi! Le onde buone arrivano finalmente per Martin Coret, che riesce a passare la sua heat contro il giovane danese Noa Stender Mikkelsen.

Infine, il duello tra Douwe Roubroch e local matador Reouano Regragui. Il marocchino sostenuto calorosamente dal pubblico sulla terraferma, riesce a scegliere alcune delle onde migliori , ma è il giovane olandese ad avere la meglio, portando a casa una heat in cui ha mostrato un livello tecnico eccellente, con un surf controllato, elegante e variegato.
The final quarterfinal duel is between Douwe Robrouch and local matador Reouano Regragui. Supported passionately by the crowd, the Moroccan picks some of the best waves, but the young Dutchman prevails with excellent technical level, controlled, elegant, and varied surfing.

Finals day arrives. The crowd onshore is pumped, and although the waves are small, they’re clean and well-formed—perfect for longboarding. And the water show doesn’t disappoint.
Si parte con le semifinali maschili: Antonio Dantas contro Louis Marchiset. Il francese è costante, ma Dantas trova le onde migliori e piazza due score solidi da 8 e 7. Passa in finale.
Men’s semifinals start: Antonio Dantas vs. Louis Marchiset. The Frenchman is consistent, but Dantas finds the better waves, posting solid 8 and 7 scores. He advances.
Segue una heat mozzafiato: Martin Coret (vincitore della prima tappa) contro il giovane Douwe Robroch. Il francese parte forte, ma Douwe mantiene la calma, aspetta l’onda giusta… e spara un clamoroso 9.75, il punteggio più alto dell’intero evento. Il giovane olandese guadagna meritatamente un posto in finale contro Dantas.

La finale maschile è un’altra lezione di calma e strategia. Dantas continua la sua linea, ci mostra longboard di altissimo livello pero Douwe aspetta, sceglie bene, e trova l’onda vincente: un altro 9,5. Due excellence scores in due heat decisive. Giornata da incorniciare per l’olandese.
The men’s final is another lesson in calm and strategy. Dantas continues with high-level longboarding, but Douwe waits, picks well, and scores the winning 9.5. Two excellent scores in two decisive heats. A day to remember for the Dutchman.
Anche la finale femminile è da brividi. Dupont parte forte, impone il ritmo, costruisce punteggi solidi intorno a 6 e 7, e mette pressione. Ma Thilde resta lucida. Quando arriva il set giusto, piazza un 9.3 e cambia il destino della heat. Sorriso stampato in faccia durante la risalita, prende il controllo della priorità e completa la rimonta. È lei a sollevare la coppa d’oro.
The women’s final is thrilling too. Dupont starts strong, setting the pace and building solid 6 and 7 scores to put pressure on Thilde. But Thilde stays focused. When the right set comes, she scores a 9.3, changing the heat’s fate. Smiling on the paddle back, she takes control of priority and completes the comeback. She lifts the gold trophy.
